Gun Talk WWII German1944 Mauser BYF P38

Years ago I picked up a West German Police Walther P1 with original police holster and two magazines. I got a great deal on it compared to today’s market but never bonded with it (probably because the “upgraded” aluminum frame sucks). I have been wanting a nice German WWII P38 production pistol for awhile and was just about done trying to find one for an acceptable price when I fell into a Gunbroker auction and got this P38 for a solid deal. The Mauser came with the issued holster and two WWII German era issued mags. Serial number indicates this pistol was made between April/May of 1944. On the magazines One has the Waffenamt stamp and one has the generic JVD stamp that was often issued with these pistols based on research. Included are some WWII German issued items set on a battle damaged Nazi flag from the era. So here it is:
